scanner printer combo-anygood basic models out there?
I would need it to be cheap as able to replace the ink -possibly a tall order i know!- but basic and does both scan and print-I have a windows vista premium system.I want to get for xmas gift so can anyone help advise me?

the best bang for the buck is the epson artisan series available directly at epson.com starting at $99 for the 710 or $129 for the 810. These are scanner/copier/fax/wireless printers which can print CDs, work wirelessly, print from camera cards without a computer, have a sheet feeder, etc. I recently bought 3 800s for myself and 2 neighbors. They’re fantastic. They have a 2 year express replacement warranty which means that for 2 years epson will fedex a replacement and pick up the old one at their expense should you need it. You can get free ink cartridges at http://www.ccs-digital.com You pay under $3 for the cartridges and get $3 back for the empty ones. I’ve been getting free ink for my epsons for over a year.
